Backup GDrive data onto the Vaultastic Open Store

Overview

  • GDrive from the Google Workspace suit of products contains important documents that need to be frequently backed up.
  • Using the LegacyFlo GDrive-S3-ZIP request type, you can now backup files from any user's Google Drive to the Vaultastic Inactive Store.

Step 1: Getting the access key and registering with LegacyFlo

Your Google Workspace needs to be primed up to get access to the user data on GDrive to be backed up using LegacyFlo. The steps to do so are given here.

Step 2: Submitting a LegacyFlo request

You can submit requests to backup GDrive data using the LegacyFlo interface.

The request type to be used is GDrive-S3-ZIP.

The parameters for the request are as follows:

The folder from which data needs to backed up on the destination. All the contents of this folder and its subfolders will be backed up. 

Note that the folder name should not start with a /.

If all the GDrive data is to be backed up, leave this value empty

To get the S3 bucket name and the S3 folder path corresponding to your Vaultastic domain Open Store, do the following:

  1. Login to your Vaultastic Account
  2. Navigate to the Open Store App
  3. Select the domain
  4. The application will show the path of your Open Store in the top left. This will look like : mithi-ind1-vaultastic-legacystore > baya-com.vaultastic.com >
  5. The first part denotes the S3 bucket name
  6. The second part denotes the S3 folder path

Step 3 (optional): Submitting multiple LegacyFlo requests to backup data for multiple users

To upload multiple jobs using a CSV, create a CSV file with a list of all the users and other details required to upload data.
