User, Group and alias provisioning in a co-existence setup

Overview

Special care has to be taken when provisioning users, groups(distribution lists) and aliases in a co-existence setup.

Provision Users

SkyConnect Users

• Add a user on SkyConnect domain with Class of Service or COS as skyconnectusercos
• Create contact id for that user on O365

O365 Users

• Create a user id in O365.
• Create the same user on SkyConnect with the Class of Service or COS set as O365.

Provision Groups or Distribution lists

SkyConnect Groups

• Create a group on SkyConnect domain and add members. Members can be users hosted on SkyConnect, O365 or any external user id.
• Create a contact id for that group on O365

O365 Distribution list

• Create a distribution list on O365 and add members. Members can be users hosted on SkyConnect, O365 or any external id.
• Create a group with same id on SkyConnect and set COS as O365.

Provision Alias

SkyConnect Alias

• Add an alias id for a user on SkyConnect domain
• Create a contact id for that alias id on O365

O365 Alias

• Add an alias id for a user on O365.
• Create a user with same id on SkyConnect and set COS as O365.
